Modern Blog Style displays featured images as background image along with post title and post author.
Setup
You can choose Modern style for your blog from Front Theme Options. It can be set from Front > Blog > Blog Style and choose Modern from the dropdown.
Modern Blog Style will be applied to all category archives, tag archives, author archives, monthly archives as well as other custom archive pages for post.
Layouts
Modern Blog Style is available in 3 layouts which are : Right Sidebar, Left Sidebar and Full-width layouts. You can set the layout of your blog in Front Theme Options, Front > Blog > Blog Layout.
Recommendations
Featured Image
In Modern Blog Style, featured images are used as background image. There is no specific dimension used or recommended. The images are not resized.
Post Author
Modern Blog Style uses blog post author info in its view. We recommend that you posts author have a profile picture uploaded through Gravatar. If a profile picture is not available, we’ll load default avatar pic that is set.
